Australian batsman Travis Head made a remarkable debut for the Yorkshire Vikings in their win over Leicestershire in the Royal London One-Day Cup. Head smashed a 139-ball 175 and took his side to a comfortable victory by 191 runs.

He started off slowly and completed his hundred from 99 balls and then unleashed himself, sending ball over the mid-on, midwicket and square-leg boundary on the way to recording the second highest List A individual score.

Darren Lehmann heads the list of players with the highest List A individual score with 191 against Nottinghamshire at Scarborough in the 2001 45-over National League.

Yorkshire Official Twitter handle posted about the record breaking performance as it reads, “150 for @travishead34 off 130 balls with 16x4s and 2x6s. 299-2 now. Record stand of 248 for county in all List A cricket.”

His innings almost overshadowed a blistering ton from his teammate Jack Leaning, who smashed 131 off 110 deliveries with 7 fours and 5 maximums. The duo added 274 runs from 36.3 overs, recording the county’s highest ever List A partnership.

Yorkshire posted a total of 376 and Leicestershire never looked getting anywhere close in the chase as they kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Adil Rasheed was impressive with the ball for Yorkshire. He picked up three wickets in the match and ended up with bowling figures of 3 for 23 from his 4.3 overs.

Tim Bresnan, Steven Patterson, and Azeem Rafiq bagged 2 wickets each as the opposition were folded out for 185. Kevin O’Brien was the one who got rid of Travis Head on the last ball of the 46th over of the match. Clint McKay was the pick of the bowlers for Leicestershire, as he conceded 57 runs in his quota of 10 overs, though he failed to have anything in the wickets column.
