George Bailey, the former Australian skipper made his last international appearance back in 2016 and since then he has become a regular figure in the domestic circuit. The right-handed batsman on many occasions is seen experimenting with his batting stance. And, recently he came out with one of the weirdest ones in a domestic match.

The 37-year-old has failed to impress the chief selectors of Australia with his performance since his fallout. Bailey’s recent form carries only two half-centuries in his last nine innings with a best of 70.

George Bailey leaves his fans perplexed

The incident occurred during a Sheffield Shield match between Tasmania and Victoria in the 25th over. In the unusual stance of the Aussie cricketer, his body was facing towards the wicketkeeper but his head was looking in the direction of the bowler. As soon as the ball was released, the right-handed batsman came back to the orthodox position and played a pull shot towards the leg side on a short-pitched delivery bowled towards him by the fast bowler. The video of the same got viral on social media platforms.

Here is the video from the match

The Australian player has played five Tests, 90 One-Day Internationals and 30 Twenty20 Internationals and has scored more than 3,000 runs across all the formats with three centuries. He had captained Australia in T20Is and is also the second player after Dave Gregory in order to lead Australia on debut in any format.

In the match, Matthew Wade scored half-centuries in both the innings for Tasmania whereas, from Victoria, it was Marcus Harris, Peter Handscomb and Nic Maddinson, who scored the fifties in the respective innings. In bowling, Jake Bird, the fast bowler of Tasmania, looked in his top-notch form and recorded some brilliant bowling figures in the match (1st innings-15.5-7-35-3 and in 2nd innings-27-6-65-4).

In the end, Tasmania defeated Victoria by a big margin of six wickets in the 7th Match of Marsh Sheffield Shield in Hobart. And, the wicketkeeper-batsman Matthew Wade emerged as the Man of The Match for recording the scores of  69, and 57 with his willow.
