David Warner hasn’t had the most auspicious of times in his cricketing career. He got himself tangled in the infamous ball-tampering scandal back in March in a Test match versus South Africa. Thereafter, he was slapped with a ban of one year by Cricket Australia (CA) along with teammates Steve Smith and Cameron Bancroft who were also found guilty.

Recently, the fortunes seemed to have turned a little for Warner. Earlier, he was drafted in by the Winnipeg Hawks in the inaugural edition of the global T20 Canada tournament, which is scheduled to take place later this month. He also got an opportunity to make his debut in the Caribbean Premier League (CAP) when he was roped in by the St Lucia Stars for the tournament.

Warner commentates for Channel 9

It can already be seen that the tainted Australian cricketer is trying his heart out not to get detached from the sport. Following the shambolic incident, which turned his career upside down, Warner opened up in front of the media and mentioned that he broke down in tears and mentioned that he might not represent Australia at the highest level ever again.

However, he seems determined to garner back his lost pride. Australia are currently playing England for a five-match ODI series, which began a couple of days ago. The Men in Yellow have already slumped in their previous matches in London and Cardiff respectively, and are 2-0 down in the series. Their next three matches are do-or-die ones and Tim Paine’s men can’t afford another slip up by any means.

Meanwhile, Warner, who isn’t there in the national squad, has been seen in the commentary box for Channel 9 and marked his return. However, his presence didn’t quite please Twitter and they bashed the Aussie left, right and center for being present.
