In a humdinger of a contest at the Chinnaswamy stadium, Australia emerged as winners against Bangladesh. Winning the toss, the Aussie captain Steve Smith decided to field first.
Bangladesh came into the game with three huge blows since their leading pacer Taskin Ahmed and spinner Arafat Sunny were suspended for suspect bowling action while the in-form batsman Tamim Iqbal out due to illness.
Bangladesh had a shaky start as they managed only 33/2 by the end of the powerplay. Shakib Al Hasan somehow revived Bangladeshi batting lineup before he got out for 33 runs off 25 balls. Zampa struck thrice for Australia as he was the pick of the bowlers for Australia.
However, Mushfiqur Rahim played well along with Mahmudullah who’s quick-fire 49 off 29 balls ensured Bangladesh registered a decent score. They slammed 44 from the last 3 overs and set a target of 157 for the Poms.
Australia began with a bang with Usman Khawaja continuing his terrific form. He slammed 58 from 45 balls well supported by Watson as they set the platform for Australia’s chase. Bangladesh spinners and fielding also didn’t do good enough to put any sort of pressure on the Aussies.
However, the Aussie middle order collapses as they began to lose wickets in regular intervals. Maxwell brought them close to a victory before Shakib struck twice in his last over. However Faulkner ensured there were no further hiccups as he scored the winning runs for Australia.

Leg spinners turning it on, most dangerous in T20s as they get steep bounce making it hard for batsmen esp righthands #AUSvBAN #WT20

Expected that #BAN will attack #AUS with spinners but need at least 100 in last 10 overs, tough but possible.
