“Gautam Gambhir will be playing the last Test of his career when India meets England to play the second Test at Vizag.” This is what is trending at the moment on Twitter. Ever since the news of KL Rahul returning to full fitness has emerged, fans have began to troll Gautam Gambhir with messages and photographs bidding farewell to him.
The Karnataka batsman was ruled out for due to a hamstring injury after the first Test against New Zealand Kanpur before England arrived to play. The injury kept him away from the remainder of the three-match New Zealand series and the first Test of the five-match series against England as well.
But, the 24-year old Karnataka opener is now set to join the squad as its 16th member for the second Test against England in Visakhapatnam, starting November 17. He is currently playing for Karnataka in their Ranji Trophy Group B clash against Rajasthan in Vizianagaram and scored 76 and 106 to put his state-side in a commanding position. These couple of knocks has now made his way clear for a comeback in the team which probably means that Gambhir will most likely sit out of the second Test.
Gautam Gambhir, who was on a comeback trail as a replacement of Rahul has failed to make most of the opportunity scoring 29, 50, 29 and a duck. This inability has led left fans disappointment and with Rahul set to return again, the fans decided to have a bit fun trolling the Delhi left-hander.

KL Rahul called up. Well Gautam Gambhir isn't Shikhar Dhawan or Rohit Sharma that he'll get another opportunity. Sad but true #IndvsEng

Too harsh on Gambhir to be dropped but good for team India.

The moment Lokesh Rahul showed he was fit, and scored runs, he deserved to be in. Good to see selectors proactive. But a message to Gambhir?

Replace Rahane with Rahul. I still believe Gambhir is in great touch. Need one big innings from him #IndvsEng

KL Rahul is fit again. Gambhir may have to invent a new stance now to play another test for India. #IndvEng

Really happy about KL Rahul returning to the squad. Equally concerned about Gambhir's place in the XI.#INDvENG

A bit ironical but the last shot Gambhir may have played in international cricket is his trademark poke to the slips.

@bhogleharsha KLRahul is an established batsman AND a fielder. Gambhir unfortunately isn't both (asofnow). Might be 2 harsh but it's needed

Must be a huge psychological blow to Gambhir that Rahul was inducted into the team right after his first class game. GG has played his last.
