Twitter Reaction: Imran Tahir and Amla smash records as Proteas thrash Windies

While the South Africans claimed a win over the West Indies in the Tri-Series 2016, it was the heroics of Imran Tahir and Hashim Amla who stole the headlines. With both players breaking a plethora of records on the day, it was only fitting that most Tweets on social media handle Twitter was addressed to these two players. While batting, Hashim Amla broke a few records. Upon reaching his 23rd century, Amla became the fastest batsman to reach 23 ODI centuries. Having taken just 123 matches to reach the milestone, he surpassed Indian batting sensation Virat Kohli who had taken 157 ODIs to accomplish the same feat. Amla also bagged the unique feat of surpassing 1000 runs against the West Indies in ODIs. Moreover, he became the fastest to 1000 runs against the Windies, having amassed the feat in just 14 innings. AB de Villiers achieved the same feat in 17 innings. Superstar Imran Tahir may be 35 years old. However, his amazing figures of 7/45 saw him become the 9th best figures in ODIs and the best figures by a South African bowler. Moreover, Tahir also became the fastest bowler to complete 100 wickets in ODI cricket, completing the feat in just 58 ODI matches.
