Twitter reactions: AB de Villiers blessed with a baby boy: South African cricketer AB de Villiers was blessed with a baby boy on Wednesday. The Proteas ODI skipper and his wife Daniella became proud parents of their first child in Capetown. The South Africans and cricket lovers all over the world were absolutely delighted with the news. “We all feel very blessed and grateful. Mother and son are both doing well,” De Villiers was quoted as saying.

Cricket South Africa was the first to congratulate their star player and they tweeted a picture of AB de Villiers and his wife with their son. While South Africa is currently playing a crucial test in Bangladesh – AB is on paternity leave and flew back from the sub-continent to his country to be with his wife. Wishes poured in for De Villiers on social media as Twitter dubbed the newborn as ‘Baby de Villiers.

Popular punch lines like ‘AB has a baby’ followed thereafter. While most wished the new father on the new addition to the family, many others joked about the superhuman abilities the child will possess owing to his paternal genes.
