The possibility of KL Rahul making a sensational return to his former team Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) camp for the 2025 IPL season has sent the franchise's loyal fan base into turmoil.
Rahul, who made his IPL debut for RCB back in 2013 before returning for another successful stint in 2016, has been away from the camp since then, representing Punjab Kings (PBKS) and currently leading Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). However, recent events have reignited calls for the stylish right-hander to come back to his IPL roots.
The trigger of his return was after a heated exchange between Rahul and Lucknow owner Sanjiv Goenka following LSG's humiliating 10-wicket loss to Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) on May 08th in Hyderabad.
This is just pathetic from @LucknowIPL owner

Never saw SRH management with players on the field or even closer to dressing room irrespective of so many bad seasons and still face lot of wrath for getting involved. Just look at this @klrahul leave this shit next year #SRHvsLSG pic.twitter.com/6NlAvHMCjJ
Goenka was seen venting his frustration at the captain in full view of the cameras, leading to speculation about Rahul's future with the franchise. RCB fans pounced on this opportunity, flooding social media by asking the 32-year-old to return to his old franchise in the next edition.

In the ongoing season under Rahul, LSG have won six out of their 12 games and are sixth on the table. While the skipper has also been the highest run-scorer for his side in this season, scoring 460 runs in 12 games, his strike rate has been under heavy scrutiny.
In his debut season in 2013, the Karnataka batter featured in five games and scored just 20 runs. Before returning in 2016 to score 397 runs, cementing his status as a fan favourite. His aggressive yet elegant batting style perfectly complements RCB's approach, making him an ideal fit for the team.
Moreover, Rahul's leadership qualities and experience could prove invaluable for a side that has often faltered in crunch situations despite considering immense talent. His calming influence and tactical acumen could be the missing piece in RCB's relentless pursuit of their maiden IPL title.
Here is how the fans reacted after KL Rahul's argument video with Sanjiv Goenka:
KL Rahul didn't play well yesterday but pathetic bevaviar the owner of LSG .
