India finished Day 3 of the fourth Test against England in the driver’s seat as they were 40/0 chasing a target of 192 in the fourth innings. Openers Rohit Sharma (24* off 27) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (16* off 21) batted through the tricky period in the final session to bring India in a good position in the game.
England came out to build on their 46-run first innings lead, however, their plans were shattered by Ravichandran Ashwin who left them at 65/3. He got good support from Kuldeep Yadav who picked up 4/22 to bundle out England for 145. Zak Crawley was the top scorer for England with his knock of 60 (91).
Earlier in the day, India resumed their innings on 219/7 with Dhruv Jurel (30*) and Kuldeep Yadav (17*) at the crease. The duo extended their partnership to 76 to take India past 250. James Anderson broke the stand by cleaning up Kuldeep, however, Jurel continued his brilliant knock and got involved in another crucial 40-run stand with Akash Deep.
Jurel unfortunately missed out on converting his maiden fifty into a hundred getting dismissed for 90 by Tom Hartley. As a result, India got all out for 307 trailing England by 46 runs in the first innings.
Let’s take a look at highlights from Day 3 of IND vs ENG 4th Test:
1. Dhruv Jurel’s scores maiden Test half-century
The wicketkeeper batter played a valiant knock under pressure and bailed India out of trouble after they were left reeling at 177/7. Jurel scored 90 (149) with the help of six fours and four sixes and helped India get past 300.
A feeling like no other! 👏😍

Brilliant to see so many youngsters doing well. Rinku Singh has been exceptional in limited overs cricket and Yashasvi Jaiswal has been brilliant in Test cricket. Dhruv Jurel being mighty impressive, Sarfaraz having a good beginning to his career and Akash Deep showing some…

When it comes to hype, one of the least hyped guys is Kuldeep Yadav.

Been exceptional for many years, but never got a online fan club or people to hype him as the next big thing. Deserves a lot more credit and hype than he gets . pic.twitter.com/DWiH8Hy4Di
