Amid multiple reports, Former India captain Sourav Ganguly is all set to be replaced by Roger Binny as the BCCI President. 50-year-old Ganguly, affectionately known as ‘dada’ took over the post as the BCCI President in 2019, following a four-year stint in a similar role at the Cricket Association of Bengal.

However, the Prince of Calcutta is to be replaced from the top post in the Indian cricket board. The news of the Binny’s takeover as the president and Ganguly’s exit has triggered a meme fest started by Virat Kohli fans who believe it to be ‘karma’.

Virat Kohli’s fans recalled the episode that had unfolded between the right-hander and Ganguly which led to Kohli's decision to step down from Test captaincy a month after being removed from ODI duties. Furthermore, the 33-year-old had revealed that he would step down from the T20I captaincy role after the T20 World Cup in UAE just prior to the tournament back in September 2021.

Moreover, in November Kohli was released off his duty as captain of ODI cricket. However, ‘dada’ revealed later that BCCI had asked him to reconsider his decision, but the player had contradicted saying that he was informed just one-and-a-half hours before the selection meeting for the South Africa tour. The growing tension between the two has led to Twitter erupting with memes following Ganguly’s removal as the President.

On Thursday, Ganguly assumed another role as the brand ambassador of Bandhan Bank in Kolkata. Now, former India player and 1983 World Cup winner Roger Binny is the frontrunner to take up the role as the new President of the BCCI. A lot is expected by the new man in charge during his stint as the President in order to shape Indian cricket further and reach greater heights.
