'To one of the most talented cricketers' - Cricket fraternity overwhelms KL Rahul on his 31st birthday

With the Indian Premier League (IPL) turning 15, Lucknow Super Giants skipper KL Rahul celebrated his birthday on April 18 as well. The ace Indian batter turned 31 and had a low-key celebration at midnight, as photos shared on social media captured the star batter cutting the cake with his wife, Athiya Shetty, by his side.

With the ace Indian batter turning 31, a plethora of star Indian players, both former and current, came forward to wish KL Rahul on the joyous occasion. Bollywood star Suniel Shetty, who is also the Indian batter’s father-in-law, was one of the first people to wish him.

Speaking about his performances, Rahul had been struggling to perform at the IPL 2023. On the back of poor performances in international cricket, he would have hoped for an improved performance at the ongoing T20 carnival. However, he did play a resilient knock in his previous game, where he scored 74 runs against Punjab Kings.

Lucknow Super Giants take on Rajasthan Royals in their next game

Lucknow Super Giants played their previous game at the IPL 2023 against the Sam Curran-led Punjab Kings where, despite an excellent knock by KL Rahul in the first innings, Lucknow faced a defeat. For their next encounter, they take on the Sanju Samson-led Rajasthan Royals in the 26th match of the tournament at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Wednesday, April 19.

Coming on the back of a defeat, Lucknow would be keen on reclaiming the top spot in the IPL points table, as they currently sit in the second spot with six points from five matches. On the other hand, it won’t be an easy task as Rajasthan Royals sit atop the standings with eight points in five games.

The Sanju Samson-led side has been in excellent form this season, and it could prove to be quite a challenge for Lucknow to defeat them at home when both sides take the stage.
