Twitter Reactions: Devon Conway's power hitting propels Chennai to 200 against PBKS

The 41st game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 is witnessing a clash between the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings and the Shikhar Dhawan-led Punjab Kings at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday, April 30.

After winning the toss, Chennai came into bat first. Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway aimed to build upon their good form, and the batters did just that. Gaikwad, who scored 47 runs in his previous game, looked to score big once again.

The 26-year-old amassed 37 runs off 31 deliveries before he was sent back to the pavilion by Sikandar Raza. On the other hand, Devon Conway scored his fifth half-century of IPL 2023. The 31-year-old amassed 92* runs off just 52 deliveries. His knock was integral to Chennai posting 200 runs on the board.

Furthermore, Shivam Dube scored 28 runs off 17 deliveries, and Moeen Ali and Jadeja only managed to score 10 and 12 runs, respectively. In the end, skipper MS Dhoni’s short cameo helped the four-time champions post a big total on the board.

Punjab put in a subpar performance with the ball. Rahul Chahar took one wicket and conceded 35 runs in the four overs he bowled. Furthermore, Raza conceded 31 runs in three overs, taking one wicket as well. Arshdeep Singh dismissed Shivam Dube, who was looking dangerous, however, the Indian pacer conceded 37 runs in four overs as well.

Punjab Kings aim to register fifth win of the season

After limiting Chennai to a total of 200 runs, Punjab Kings will come into bat and hope that they can chase the target down and register their fifth win of the IPL 2023. They played their last game against the KL Rahul-led Lucknow Super Giants, where Lucknow won the game by 56 runs.

The side currently finds itself in sixth place on the IPL points table with eight points in just as many games. Having won four and lost four games so far, Punjab Kings would be keen on overcoming the Chepauk challenge and chasing the target down.
