India continued their unbeaten run in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as they beat the Netherlands by 160 runs in Match 45 on Sunday, November 12 at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru. After opting to bat first, India posted a humongous total of 410/4 in their allotted 50 overs riding on centuries from KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer. In reply, the Netherlands were bundled out for 250 in 47.5 overs with only Teja Nidamanuru scoring a half-century.
Netherlands’ didn’t start their chase well as they lost their opener Wesley Barresi (4 off 5) in the second over itself. After the early wicket, Max O’Dowd (30 off 42) and Colin Ackerman (35 off 32) stabilized the innings with their 61-run stand. Their partnership by India’s spin-twins Kuldeep Yadav and Ravindra Jadeja while Captain Scott Edwards (17 off 30) fell prey to Virat Kohli in the 25th over.

Sybrand Engelbrecht (45 off 80) and Teja Nidamanuru (54 off 39) showed some fight from the Dutch. However, the duo couldn’t last long with captain Rohit Sharma bringing the curtains down on the Dutch innings with the dismissal of Nidamanuru in the 48th over.
Earlier in the day, Indian openers Rohit Sharma (61 off 54) and Shubman Gill (51 off 32) got their team off to a perfect start as they added 100 runs for the first wicket off 71 balls. After their dismissals, Virat Kohli walked in at number three and scored a brilliant half-century (51 off 56) before losing his stumps against Roelof van der Merwe.
KL Rahul scored fastest hundred by an Indian
Following Kohli’s wicket, KL Rahul joined Shreyas Iyer at the crease and the duo got involved in a massive 208-run stand for the fourth wicket off 127 balls. Rahul (102 off 64) registered the fastest hundred by an Indian in ODI World Cup history off just 62 balls while Iyer remained unbeaten on 128* off 94. Following their win, India continued their unbeaten run in the World Cup and registered the second-longest winning streak in the history of the tournament with nine consecutive wins. The Men in Blue will next lock horns with their old nemesis New Zealand in the first semi-final on Wednesday, November 15 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
