Twitter was left completely baffled after India cricketer, Prithvi Shaw, was yet again ignored from India's playing XI in the second T20I against New Zealand at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow.

The Men In Blue are 0-1 down against the Black Caps who won the first T20I convincingly by 21 runs to gain a lead. India would be looking to win the second T20I in order to level the series and take it to an interesting decider on February 1.

Umran for Yuzvendra but no Prithvi?: Twitterati lash out at Indian selection

Going into the second T20I, team India made only one change to their playing XI, that too from the bowling department. They decided to include spinner, Yuzvendra Chahal, in the place of young pace bowler, Umran Malik. Twitter was quick to notice the change and express their displeasure on Prithvi Shaw getting excluded yet again from the series.

Of late on other occassions as well, the Indian management's thought process and mindset has raised many eyebrows with regard to the selection of players for the national side.

Here's how the cricket fans reacted :-

Prithvi Shaw had a tremendous domestic season and was looking his best form, so much so that almost everyone knew the 23-year-old would be roaring back into India's playing XI. But, into the 2nd T20I, and Prithvi is yet to make his appearance in the blue jersey. He has till now played one solitary T20I for India, which was way back in 2021.

Fans also lashed out at the callous captaincy of Hardik Pandya. They were quick to accuse him of having almost no knowledge of team selection, maintaining balance and momentum within the team and most importantly, backing the players who were on the bench.

Shaw's comeback has been on the back of an impressive run in the domestic circuit where he scored 363 runs in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2022. Despite the run-scoring spree, India continued to back Shubman Gill as their opener.
