Twitter Reactions: Daniel Christian whacks a 117 metre six

The 19th over of Hobart Hurricane’s innings witnessed some brutal strikes from Daniel Christian. He first hammered a length ball out of the park for a six, that went a massive 117 metres. And followed it up with another whack to the spectators stand, this one going 112 metres. Poor Luke Feldman bowled another dolly, this one turned into a waist high full toss but the batter smashed this one for six too, making it three for the over.

Christian reached his fifty from just 21 balls, as the crowd cheered for more. A total of 25 runs came from that over, which helped Hobart pile up a big total of 194/4 at the end of 20 overs. Hobart Hurricanes are currently placed at the seventh spot while Brisbane Heat are on the last spot.

The league has witnessed some ferocious blows since the start. BBL has been in the news of late since a streaker made way during Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Stars. The streaker had to dig a hole in his pocket as cricket authorities look set to hand him a $5500 fine for entering the field of play. There is also the possibility he will receive a conviction notice from the NSW Police.

“Someone should get in there and give him a good clip, Junior,” said Ponting in commentary to Mark Waugh. “Lets hope that is a $6000 fine at least. That’s disgraceful, we don’t like seeing that. Some people probably do, but it’s a bad look for the game.” he added.
