In what was an interesting encounter between Delhi Daredevils and Sunrisers Hyderabad, SRH managed to win the game by 15 runs. With that win, they shoot up right to the second position at the points table.
Earlier in the day, it was captain David Warner who won the toss as Sunrisers Hyderabad elected to bat first. Kane Williamson went on to play his first game this season while Mohammed Siraj made his debut as both Barinder Sran and Mohammed Nabi missed out. DD made one change as Jayant Yadav was brought into the playing XI.
SRH had their best batsman and captain Warner back to the pavilion in the very first over. However, the inclusion of Kane Williamson in the side proved to be the masterstroke. He batted with sheer brilliance in his stay at the crease. Shikhar Dhawan too stepped up as he provided ample support from the other end.
Both batsmen put up an astounding 136 run partnership for the second wicket. Williamson got out as soon as he was closing on to his century as he got out for 89 off 51 in a knock that had 5 sixes. Dhawan too got out soon for an excellent 70 off 50 balls.
Yuvraj Singh was dismissed cheaply but Moises Henriques and Deepak Hooda did provide the finishing touch. SRH managed to post a total of 191/4 in their quota of 20 overs. Chris Morris continued his splendid bowling as he got all the four wickets. The rest of the Delhi bowling was expensive.
Sam Billings was off to business straightaway away as he smashed 3 boundaries in the second over before getting out. From there on, Sanju Samson and Karun Nair displayed some sensational batting performance as they combined for a 71 run partnership for the second wicket.
Just as it seemed Delhi were looking set, Karun Nair got run out. Rishabh Pant ended up skying one to long off in the very same over as he got out for a golden duck. There was no sign of the man in form Chris Morris at the crease even after Samson got out.
This decision ended up costing Delhi Daredevils the game as Angelo Mathews batted a tad bit slow. Shreyas Iyer managed to score a half-century off 31 balls. On the other hand, Mathews also scored 31 off 23. While both rotated the strike well, they failed to get the boundaries.
At the end, Delhi Daredevils fell short by 15 runs with Morris not facing a single ball. On the other hand, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Siddharth Kaul bowled wonderfully at the death. Debutant Siraj also got a couple of wickets but was a bit on the expensive side. Kane Williamson was deservingly rewarded the man of the match.
Here are some of the amazing Twitter reactions that took place during the course of the game:

Delhi's much vaunted bowling getting caned tonite. Unless the can turn things around in the closing overs, could be chasing around 200!

Williamson is a class act. You dont have to be good only at playing big strokes to be a T20 player. BTW, he's hit 3 sixes already today

This is why Kane is so aggressive today. #SRHvDD pic.twitter.com/pZ1EyPcNp6
