Ask any fan of the Indian Premier League (IPL) “which is the most consistent IPL team?” and you will get the obvious answer. Chennai Super Kings (CSK), the two-time IPL champions are ready to rock the stage again. It was 2015 when they played their last game in the league. Alongside Rajasthan Royals, the yellow brigade was suspended for two years for breaching certain laws and regulations of the competition.

They have served their two-year ban while watching their anchor Mahendra Singh Dhoni play in the purple shirt of Rising Pune Supergiant. They have seen their Mr Dependable Suresh Raina score runs in the orange jersey of Gujrat Lions. They have seen their go-to bowler Ravichandran Ashwin play under the captaincy of Dhoni and Steve Smith in Pune.

But the orange and purple are past now. Yellow is ready to take over the proceedings now. CSK Cricket Limited (CSKCL)’s director K George John is excited to be back in the circuit again and to mark the grand comeback, he is planning to hold some social media activities for the CSK loyalists.

He has also cleared his intention of retaining the former Indian skipper. “If we are given an option of retaining a player, it will definitely be Dhoni. We haven’t yet interacted with Dhoni as his contract with Pune ends later this year. However, we will speak to him in the future as and when we make our plans for the next season,” George was quoted as saying by TOI.

Just like the director, the fans are very excited. They are flooding Twitter with memes focusing on the comeback and the grandiosity of the franchise. While some are quoting references from the blockbuster movie ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion’, others are looking forward to another Dhoni-Raina partnership.
