The decider in Cape Town turned out to be a spectacular affair the match went down till the last over as both the teams put in everything to seal the series. It was a complete effort from the Men in Blue first with the bat and then with the ball that helped India win the series 2-1. Indian skipper Virat Kohli had to miss out due to a stiff back and Rohit Sharma took over the captaincy role.
Being asked to bat first, Rohit continued to struggle against Junior Dala as he got out to him yet again. Shikhar Dhawan and Suresh Raina combined for a 65-run partnership for the second wicket. Raina looked good before he got out failing to clear the boundary.
Dhawan who began slow started to accelerate but couldn’t prolong his stay at the crease. The likes of Manish Pandey, Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni as well failed to get the big shots going. Dinesh Karthik scored three boundaries before getting out. India managed to post a total of 172/7 on the board. Junior Dala was the pick amongst the Proteas bowlers with three wickets. Chris Morris also got a couple of wickers while Tabraiz Shamsi got the all-important wicket of Suresh Raina.
South Africa had a patchy start. The openers began really slowly as the Proteas only scored 25 runs in the first powerplay. While both openers were dismissed, JP Duminy again stepped up with the bat. Heinrich Klaasen failed to replicate his performance from the last game.
For a long period in the game, it seemed as if the Proteas were well off the target. However, some splendid hitting by Christiaan Jonker, in the end, brought them really close to the equation. Bhuvneshwar Kumar who was given the responsibility to defend 19 in the last over managed to keep his nerves.
Twitter was all excited for the last game of the tour as they witnessed India win the T20I series as well. There was appreciation for Suresh Raina for his brilliant performance. On the other hand, Miller was trolled for his poor batting in the powerplay overs.
Here is how Twitterati reacted during the course of the match:

Here’s how Twitter reacted to the electrifying game at Cape Town:-
South Africa were never in this chase. Their approach was bizarre. They tried to build innings instead of hitting out from the word go.

How fitting, that, it's @BhuviOfficial who bowls the over that gives India the T20I series. He was India's Man of the Series in Tests, missed out in ODIs but showed his class in the T20Is. What a brilliant series. #SAvIND

Match khatam hote hi Kohli bhaag ke ground pe aaye, ki trophy kahin Rohit Sharma ko na de dein. ?
— Azor Ahai (@DarrKeAage) February 24, 2018
Runs and centuries are not everything. Rohit Sharma valiantly faced the wrath of Junior Dala while Virat Kohli ran away. True hero Rohit.

South Africa must be wondering how they reached this stage….71 runs off 29 balls after losing ONLY three wickets. #SAvIND

#SAvsIND why do the #Proteas always are very conservative during power play? They are always putting pressure on the lower order instead of setting the tone early and putting bowlers on the back foot. Now they've made this harder than it should've ?
— Thando nhubunga (@jus_thando) February 24, 2018
Duminy is really impressive today….good shots all around…alas it is too late and no support he got from other side..#SAvsIND

Raina gets a wicket on a half tracker when Dhoni strictly told him not to bowl one. Cricket is a funny game. #SAvIND

The only motive of Miller's innings was to make Dhawan's knock look better tonight. #SAvIND

The best thing about this whole series has been the stump mic. You can see Dhoni guiding the bowlers through spells clearly.

JP Duminy is Ajinkya Rahane of South Africa; Dependable batsman but never when the required rate is more than run a ball.
