Twitter Reactions: Mitchell Starc bowls 160.4kmph Yorker to Ross Taylor: Australia were all over New Zealand for the initial part of the 2nd Test after winning the first one, but a super-responsive knock from Kane Williamson ensured the Kiwi’s gave a fitting reply to Australia’s 559. As Williamson scored 166 runs in a marathon knock which lasted 250 balls while Ross Taylor gave him utmost support and stroked his way to 150. He was batting unbeaten on 137 facing Aussie left arm pacer Mitchell Starc who steamed in to bowl the 89th over.
It so happened on the 4th ball of the 89th over as Starc ran in to bowl to Taylor, and delivered a quick Yorker; the batsman somehow managed to get his bat down in time and the speed gun instantly flashed 160.4 kmph. It was a really quick delivery and right on the target, had it not been for Ross who had by then got the feel of the wicket and also had adapted to Starc’s pace having spent quality time at the wicket, a new batsman would have seen his timber flying off.
The world instantly rose to acknowledge this amazing feat by Starcy and tweets started to rush in from around the world, from fans, and former cricketers. As he entered the 160’s the world now optimistically expects this young speedster to shatter the 161.3 kmph fastest ball in cricket record held by former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar.
