Twitter Reactions: Mumbai Indians beat Knight Riders yet again

The Mumbai Indians squared off against the Kolkata Knight Riders for the second time in four days. This time, the stage was all set at the iconic Eden Gardens for the marquee clash. When the two sides had clashed a few nights ago in Mumbai, the defending champions had beaten the Knight Riders by 13 runs. Coming to Kolkata, the hosts hoped to take their revenge with the home advantage in their favor. The fans expected a close finish in the game but as the things turned out to unravel on the day, it was a one sided affair on the cards. The Mumbai Indians thoroughly outplayed the Kolkata Knight Riders in all the three departments of the game. After posting a total in excess of 200 runs on the board, the MI bowlers gave absolutely no sniff to the KKR batsmen in the run chase. Earlier in the game, the the KKR skipper Dinesh Karthik had won the toss and opted to field first. The MI openers, Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis, got off to a decent start with 46 runs for the opening wicket. While Yadav scored 36, Lewis perished for a quick 18. Skipper Rohit Sharma chipped in with a crucial 36 to his name as well. The actual impetus to the innings was given by Ishan Kishan. The southpaw hammered a 17-ball fifty to steer his side to a dominating position in the game. He eventually ended up with 62 to his name in just 21 balls with 5 fours and 6 sixes. Towards the end, Ben Cutting smashed 24 off 9 to propel the Mumbai Indians to 210/6 in their stipulated 20 overs. In the run chase, the Kolkata Knight Riders failed to find an anchor for their innings. They surrendered meekly to the bowling variations of the Mumbai Indians. The MI bowlers chipped in with wickets at regular intervals to bundle out KKR for 108 in 18.1 overs. MI won the game by 102 runs.
