Twitter Reactions: Pakistan batting collapse opens up the 1st Test: The Pakistan v England 1st Test at Abu Dhabi looked an unproductive match for all of its first 4 days, but come the 5th day and while the world was talking that Tests like these are ruining the excitement of a 5-day match the Pakistan team decided to fuel the game with yet another batting collapse.
They are almost synonyms now, Pakistan batting and a batting collapse, the regularity and unwanted consistency with which they have crumbled and submitted is a worrying number for the team management. Pakistan’s 2nd innings started on a negative note as England spearhead James Anderson clean bowled Shah Masood while they just had 3 runs on the board and 4 balls later the double centurion from the previous innings Shoaib Malik was caught behind off Anderson again for a duck.
Veteran Younis Khan and Misbah-ul-Haq sustained a brief phase of resistance adding 45 and 51 respectively and the duo got Pakistan out of the deficit. After Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali got them both back into the pavilion England had an opening which they could crack and convert the prospect of the game into a winnable one.
Coming true to their reputation, soon Pakistan were bowled out for 173 while they just had a 99 runs lead over England and with almost 20 overs to play the visitors might well fancy their chance. Thanks to the Pakistani batsmen the Test which had no interest from the world whatsoever is now trending.

This is great now, but when England are all out for 86…

All depends on the umpires now. If they go off at same time as yesterday, less than an hour for England to get runs. Maybe 10-12 overs.

Funny old game….England will do well to get 8/9 overs before the light will end the proceedings !

Rashid becomes the 4th Eng spinner in the last 60 years to take 5 on debut. Such, Cook and Edmonds the others: https://t.co/kFpZEdBS7Y

Rashid is the first England bowler to take 5+ wickets on debut overseas since JK Lever at Delhi – 7-46 v India in December 1976 #PakvEng

Pakistan have never lost a Test after scoring 500 in first inns. Also unbeaten in Abu Dhabi. But the there is a first time for everything!
