Twitter Reactions: Pakistan beat Sri Lanka in the 1st T20I: Colombo was all set for a carnival as the hosts Sri Lanka took on the Pakistani side in first T20I match. The Pakistani team didn’t have the dream start but Ahmed Shehzad laid a good platform for the middle-order batsmen to blossom at the back end of the innings. And the experienced middle-order duo of Shoaib Malik and Umar Akmal didn’t disappoint as they put their legs on the accelerator. They combined for a match winning partnership of 81 runs off just 45 balls for the 4th wicket. When Pakistan amassed 175 runs on the board, the batters had already put their team on the driver’s seat.

Now, the onus was on the Pakistani bowlers who have so far turned almost everything into gold whenever they have got the ball in hand. They didn’t dishearten their fans as well. Anwar Ali continued his merry run in Pakistani colours while the comeback man Sohail Tanvir transformed into a hero as he broke the backbone of the Sri Lankan batting, as he took 3 wickets to also grab the MOM award. Though, Siriwardana’s cameo promised a lot but lack of support and failure of other batsmen meant that Sri Lanka were never in the hunt for the win. The Pakistani team won the match comfortably by 29 runs.
