Pakistan kept their record of staying unbeaten against West Indies in the last 5 games intact with a thrilling last over a 3-run win. Hasan Ali kept his cool and successfully defended 14 runs off the last over, despite being hit for consecutive boundaries on the first two deliveries of the over.
Put into bat first, Pakistan didn’t get off to a great start losing Kamran Akmal in the first over. The West Indies kept chipping away with the wickets as Pakistan innings went from bad to worse. Shoaib Malik, though, made crucial runs but his glittering innings was cut short at 28. Pakistan looked in all sorts of trouble when they were 8 down for 95 with just 21 balls remaining in the innings. This is when Wahab Riaz chipped in with a cameo. He hit 2 sixes and took the score past 130 in his 10-ball 24. This gave Pakistan some momentum which they carried into the second innings.
West Indies chase was smooth despite the early loss of Lewis courtesy: a blistering knock of 44 by seasoned campaigner Marlon Samuels. They were in the ascendancy as far as this game was concerned until mayhem struck which was triggered by 18-year old Shadab Khan.

Shadab carried on from where he left in the last game as he again tormented the West Indies batting with his subtle variations. He dismissed Walton in identical fashion again, bowling his with a googly. He then bewildered Pollard with his crafty bowling, getting the T20 veteran stumped. Rovman Powell had little idea about the flipper he faced the very next ball and his furniture was disturbed. Pakistan slowly started to believe that they can win this one.

The biggest moment in the game came when Shadab got the wicket of Samuels, which was his fourth wicket of the night coming off his last ball of his spell. Samuel batted brilliantly till he failed to negotiate another googly by the rookie leg-spinner. The game was well and truly open.
By losing wickets at regular intervals, West Indies got themselves into a tangle. From a relatively winning position, they were staring at a possible defeat. Sunil Narine hit back to back boundaries off the first two balls of the last over to bring them back in the game. The equation came down to 6 off 4 balls. Hasan Ali bowled smartly to take Pakistan to an improbable win.
