Twitter Reactions: Rashid Khan derails Bangladesh yet again

Team Bangladesh suffered a heavy 45-run defeat in the first T20I against Afghanistan in Dehradun. In the match, they seemed to be going all fine until Rashid Khan was introduced in to the attack. Rashid scalped 3/13 in the game to be named as the Player of the Match as his side took 1-0 lead in the series. The action stayed in Dehradun as the two sides locked horns in the second game of the series.

The ‘visiting’ Bangladesh side hoped to change their fortunes in the game. But it was the same Rashid Khan who came to haunt them again. The Bangladeshi batters looked absolutely clueless as Rashid bettered his performance from the previous game in this game.

The young leggie returned with figures of 4/12 in the four overs that he bowled. It is worth noting that Afghanistani skipper Asghar Stanikai introduced Rashid in to the attack pretty late in the innings. One would wonder what could have happened had Rashid bowled earlier in the game. Bangladesh looked in a decent position with five overs left in the innings. Tamim Iqbal was set on 43 and the team needed a final flourish from him.

In walked Rashid Khan to bowl the 16th over. On the very first ball of the over, he dismissed Shakib Al Hasan on three. Three deliveries later, Rashid cleaned up the set Tamim Iqbal on 43. On the very next ball, he got the wicket of Mosaddek Hossain, who bagged a golden duck. With three strikes in the same over, Rashid pushed the opposition on the backfoot big time.

In his next over, he made things worse for the opposition by trapping Soumya Sarkar lbw on 3 to compete his four wicket haul for the game. Bangladesh eventually finished with 134/8 in the 20 overs. It should be an easy chase for the Afghanistani side and they should seal the series. For now, the social media is going gaga over Rashid again.
