The perennial bowling woes of the Royal Challengers Bangalore have been a worrying concern for the team and their fans. However, in their ongoing game against the Sunrisers Hyderabad, the bowlers have managed to set things up ideally for the batsmen to complete the rest. Now, the onus, for a rare occasion, is on the batsmen to take RCB home. RCB have the firepower do so. Having said that, it is worth noting that the Sunrisers Hyderabad have a very good record defending low scores this season.
In the match, the RCB skipper Virat Kohli stunned quite a lot of people by opting to bowl first against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. SRH have been a dominant force at home and they have been even better whilst defending totals. RCB sprung another surprise by giving Moeen Ali his maiden IPL game. On the other hand, the hosts went ahead with an unchanged eleven.
The Sunrisers openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Alex Hales, failed to get a good start in the match. Tim Southee cleaned up Hales on 5 in the third over of the game. On the other hand, Mohammad Siraj accounted for Dhawan’s dismissal on 13 in the sixth over. Yuzvendra Chahal chipped in for the visitors too by dismissing Manish Pandey for 5.
Shakib Al Hasan and Kane Williamson then had the task of rebuilding the innings that was going at a sluggish rate. Williamson continued his good form and scored a valuable 56 off just 39 deliveries. He hit five fours and a couple of sixes during his stay at the crease. His partnership with Shakib lasted for 64 runs and that kept SRH alive in the innings.
Umesh Yadav got the breakthrough for RCB by dismissing Williamson in the 16th over. Shakib also played decently well for his 32-ball 35 before getting dismissed in the 18th over by Southee. In the death overs, the hosts needed a final flourish. But Siraj ran through the lower order to bundle out the hosts to 146 in their stipulated 20 overs. He finished with figures of 3/25 in his quota of four overs.

in #IPL2018 #SRH have successfully defended totals of….
118/10 – won by 31 runs
132/6 – won by 13 runs
151/7 – won by 11 runs
146/10 – tonight?#SRHvRCB— Mohandas Menon (@mohanstatsman) May 7, 2018
Considering #SRH's bowling, #RCB conceded 10 runs more, I guess. Now everything depends upon how VK and AB plays. #SRHvRCB #IPL2018

Siraj in the death overs is turning out to be the find of the tournament….loving his control while working up serious pace. Brilliant. #SRHvRCB #IPL

Terrific effort by RCB bowlers. Hyderabad have defended modest totals superbly this season but 146 looks about 20 runs short to me

RCB and SRH are the only teams to dismiss their opponents twice this IPL. #SRHvRCB

Beautiful spell for Siraj at his home ground. Sitting in the same box as his mum and sister ? So proud, they can’t stop smiling ❤️ #SRHvRCB
