Pakistan off-spinner Saeed Ajmal bade farewell to the game. His 22 years old journey ended as Faisalabad were defeated by the Lahore Blues in the semifinals of National T20 Cup. Earlier, Ajmal reckoned that he will hang his boots after honouring his duties for Faisalabad in the tournament.
The off-spinner managed to impress in his last game as well. Bowling his quota of four overs, Ajmal has stupendous figures of 1/13. He was given a guard of honour by both the teams after the match got over.
With more than 400 dismissals in international cricket across all formats, Ajmal’s career was cut short owing to his bowling action. The ICC deemed that his arm bended over the prescribed 15 degrees while releasing the delivery. After remodeling his action, Ajmal failed to replicate his past performances and was subsequently dropped from the national team.
“The National T20 Cup is my last tournament as I don’t want to be a burden on any team. I want to give my best so that no one calls me a Parchi” he told in a statement earlier.
Saeed Ajmal was recently appointed as the spin bowling coach for the third edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) with Islamabad United.
He had earlier ensured that it was completely his decision and wasn’t made under any pressure. “I am not doing this under any pressure from anyone,” he said. “This is my own decision. I have turned 40 now, I had to leave cricket one day, so I thought I should announce my retirement since the matches are being broadcasted live.”
However he wasn’t happy with the way PCB had treated him and didn’t forget to knit pick them, he told “PCB won’t be doing anything special, so I thought I’d leave after this event,”
Twitter was all emotional as they bade farewell to the mystery bowler. Often known for his variations such as the doosra, the Pakistan fans lauded him for his services. Many weren’t happy with the way PCB had treated the bowler while others wished him all the best for the future.
Here are some of the tweets giving tribute to Saeed Ajmal after he played his farewell game:

Question:
Should we celebrate Saeed Ajmal's career given he was found to chuck it with a 40 degree bend? So many illegal wickets.
