Twitter Reactions: Sri Lanka back to losing ways

Sri Lanka failed to repeat their performances from the T20 International series win as they began the ODIs with a thumping loss at the hands of the hosts. The Port Elizabeth crowd witnessed a one-sided encounter as Sri Lanka went on to lose the opening match of the 50 overs series by 8 wickets.
Earlier in the day, captain AB de Villiers was making his much-awaited comeback in ODI cricket. He won the toss as the Proteas elected to field first. Farhaan Behardien who was the T20I captain failed to find a place in the playing XI. Wayne Parnell sent back both the openers to the pavilion in consecutive overs.
However, Kusal Mendis and Dinesh Chandimal played sensibly to bring Sri Lanka out of the clutches. Once both were dismissed, the visitors batting started tumbling as wickets fell at regular intervals. The lower order failed terribly as Sri Lankan were bundled for 181 runs that too in the penultimate over.
Imran Tahir finished with splendid bowling figures of 3/26. Wayne Parnell too got 3 wickets while Chris Morris also managed to grab a couple of wickets.

With a small target in front of them, South Africa chased it off with ease. The Sri Lankan bowlers failed to apply any sort of pressure on the Proteas batting order. Adding more to that, the South African batting order had three fifty plus partnerships as they soared to victory by 8 wickets and more than 15 overs to spare.
Both Hashim Amla and Faf du Plessis scored scintillating half centuries to set the platform for a comfortable victory. AB De Villiers remained at 30 not out which also included a maximum. With this win, the South Africans gained a 1-0 lead in the five match series.
Here are some of the amazing Twitter reactions that took place during the match:

The essential requisites for a wrist spinner are a big turning stock ball, accuracy & nip. Then you build on it. Sandakan looks like he can.
