Twitter Reactions: Warner scores 156 as Australia complete whitewash

Australia continued their domination against the Black Caps and completed a 3-0 whitewash at the MCG on Friday. After a dismal last few months, Australia would be pretty happy with the way things panned out in the series. They were simply the better side in all departments and New Zealand have some serious problems ahead of the T20 series.
Winning the toss and batting first, Australia got off to the worst possible starts losing Aaron Finch and Steve Smith in quick succession. Just when George Bailey and David Warner was slowly taking Australia to a position of safety, Grandhomme dismissed Bailey to put the brakes on the hosts and was quick to add one more to his tally with the wicket of Mitchell Marsh in the same over. Stuttering at 73/4, Travis Head joined David Warner in the middle.
The left-hander’s duo slowly started ticking along the scoreboard and found the gaps whenever required. Due to the early loss of wickets both Head and Warner were unable to play their natural game but the partnership was very important considering the context of the game. The pair shared a 105-run partnership for the 5th wicket before Head fell to Santner.
David Warner continued his prowess and started plundering the Kiwi bowlers all around MCG. In a match where scoring was pretty difficult, the destructive southpaw finished with 156 in 128 balls striking 13 fours and 4 sixes in the process. Australia eventually finished their allotted 50 overs at the score of 264/8 with Warner getting dismissed on the very last ball of the innings.
Chasing a modest 265 to win, New Zealand got off to a solid start but after a 44-run partnership for the opening wicket, Latham was dismissed by Pat Cummins. Kane Williamson and Martin Guptill were soon to follow Tom Latham in the dressing room as the Black Caps slid to 79/3. The Australian bowlers were simply lethal and after the loss of 3 wickets, they never allowed the visitors to come back into the match.
The visitors never really recovered from the early hiccups and eventually was bowled out for 147 in 36 overs. It was a brilliant display of fast bowling by Mitchell Starc who finished with 3/34 in his 10 overs. The lanky fast bowler was ably supported by Cummins, Faulkner and Travis Head who all chipped in with a couple of wickets. Courtesy their impressive series washout, Australia reclaimed the Chappell-Hadlee series.
Twitteratti was pretty active throughout the match and there were certain tweets which described the match proceedings in the best possible way. Here are some of the best tweets
