Team India swashbuckling batsman Yuvraj Singh was at his very best in the season opener of the 2017 edition of the Indian Premier League. He made a mockery of the bowling attack of Sunrisers Hyderabad and registered his fastest fifty in the history of the tournament. Over the years, he has played for various franchises and has made numerous comebacks in the tournament.

He has been a top notch performer in the shortest format of the game. Despite his numbers, there have always been a speculation that Yuvraj Singh has lost his charm over the years. But all such claims were brought to an absolute full stop when he scored 62 off 27 deliveries at Hyderabad against the Sunrisers Hyderabad. Yuvraj came to the crease in the 11th over after Shikhar Dhawan was dismissed by Stuart Binny. Yuvraj took very little time to settle in and started his onslaught right from the word go.

The veteran southpaw took special liking to the Royal Challengers Bangalore pacer attack as he hit 7 fours and 3 sixes en route his whirlwind 62. He brought up his half century in just 23 balls and this was his fastest fifty in the tournament history. Soon after reaching the landmark, he was up against the most successful bowler of RCB of the night – Tymal Mills.

Yuvraj Singh bludgeoned him for a six and a four to pick up the lines immaculately as the commentators watched in awe as well. Commentator Kevin Pietersen said that he had never seen anyone pick Tymal Mills as well as Yuvraj was doing. However, it was Mills who had the last laught as he cleaned him up soon after. He was dismissed in the 19th over.

The fans absolutely loved the vintage Yuvraj show who was well supported by Moises Henriques, who also hit a half century in the innings. Here are the reactions from the fans on Yuvraj’s knock.
