Twitter Reactions: Zaheer Khan announces retirement from international cricket: The whole of India was excited and ecstatic last night since their team beat South Africa in the 2nd ODI. They must have had a great night’s sleep after celebrating the win. But most woke up to this sad news that Rajiv Shukla posted on twitter that Indian pacer Zaheer Khan has decided to end his international cricketing career and, he will announce his retirement from all forms of international cricket today.
Instantly memories flash of the 2000’s where Zaheer would outsmart the batsmen with his swing. Graeme Smith’s face comes to the memory; someone who would have loved this news had it appeared a couple of years back. One doesn’t fail to remember his performances in the World Cup 2011 where he got India wickets at the start and whenever in the innings Dhoni threw the ball to him. Zaheer has been an inspiration, a leader for the pace attack India has always lacked, though age, fitness and form to an extent kept him out of the ODI team since 2012, he was always there.
But now that he has decided to retire, everyone came out to salute the walking warrior. Here we compile the best tweets:
