Twitter slams ICC for committing a blunder surrounding Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi

Speedster Kagiso Rabada has carved himself as a brute force to reckon with for South Africa in all three formats of international cricket. He recently ended his stint for the national team during their tour of Sri Lanka. He picked up eight wickets in two matches and then went on to notch six wickets in the ODI series, which the Proteas won 3-2. He also bowled well in the one-off T20I against the Lankans in Colombo. At the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo, he finished with figures of 4-0-24-2. The 23-year-old made his debut back in 2014 at the Adelaide Oval against Australia and hasn’t looked back ever since. He has thus far played 32 Tests, 52 ODIs and 17 ODIs in which he has racked up 151, 81 and 24 wickets respectively. He is expected to be a crucial element for his team in the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. The blunder by the world’s apex cricket board The Johannesburg-bowler has duly been rewarded and was named as the Best Young Male Cricketer of 2018 by Wisden. Thereafter, Thabang Moroe, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Cricket South Africa praised the fast-bowler on the achievement. In the meantime, the International Council also congratulated Rabada by taking to the social media platform. They took to Twitter and wrote, “High praise from @OfficialCSA chief executive Thabang Moroe for @KagisoRabada25 after he was named the Best Young Male Cricketer of 2018 by Wisden.” Nevertheless, they made an error while posting the same. Instead of using Rabada’s picture, ICC shared Lungi Ngidi’s photograph along with their post. The post was there for more than 13 hours after it was uploaded and was not being deleted. Eventually, the world’s apex cricket board realised it and removed it from the public platform. In the meantime, the social media users also ridiculed the ICC for their mistake.
