Hardik Pandya has been a vital component of the Indian team and is currently playing the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. The 25-year-old is yet to set the stage on fire but has silently done his job with precision. He got a quickfire 48 against Australia to make his first impact. Thereafter, he chipped in with a couple of decent shows versus Pakistan and Afghanistan where he picked up two wickets each.

However, on June 27, he put forth his potential to take responsibility when the chips were down. At the Old Trafford in Manchester against the Windies, India found themselves in a bit of trouble after losing half-the-side with only 180 runs on the board. Pandya didn’t throw in the towel and turned up with a useful knock of 46 runs off 38 balls with the help of five boundaries. He came to bat after the fall of Virat Kohli’s prized wicket.

Pandya showed maturity and stitched together a stand of 70 runs with MS Dhoni, who remained not out on 56 off 61, to bail the Men in Blue out of the precarious position. The swashbuckling batter played till the penultimate over and got out to speedster Sheldon Cottrell. In the meantime, former Australian cricketer Brad Hogg was so impressed with Hardik that he called him the best all-rounder of the World Cup.

Fans mock Hogg for his words

The comments didn’t go down well with the supporters and they trolled Hogg. The fans reminded him the names of Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan and England’s Ben Stokes. Shakib has been absolutely stupendous with both bat and ball. The Jessore-born cricketer has been among the leading run-scorers of the tournament for quite a while now. Moreover, he has also chipped in with wickets in the hour of need.

In fact, in all the games Bangladesh won, Shakib was the Player of the Match. Stokes, on the other hand, has been impressive all. Though the Englishman is yet to weave magic with the ball, he already has scores of 82* and 89, though both of those knocks came in losing causes versus Sri Lanka and Australia. Hogg couldn’t evade the wrath of the fans after he called Hardik as the best.

Here is how Twitter ridiculed Hogg for his comment
