Rahul Gandhi, the President of the Indian National Congress, is celebrating his 48th birthday on Tuesday. He is the Prime Minister candidate of his political party for the upcoming elections in 2019. Mohammad Kaif, the former Indian cricketer and Congress candidate has also wished Rahul on his special day. However, his fans have trolled the politician hilariously in return and have thrown the light on his political career as well.

Kaif, in 2014, was the part of the Congress party and had contested the elections for them. He was their candidate in Loksabha elections and contested from Phulpur in Uttar Pradesh only to lose it to Keshav Prasad Maurya of Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) who eventually won the elections with the majority. Soon after the loss, Kaif returned to cricket and left the politics behind. He led Chhattisgarh in 2016 in Ranji Trophy.

Kaif’s wish

Mohammad Kaif is very active on social media these days and recently lent his support to the Indian Chess champion Soumya Swaminathan for pulling out of the Asian Championship in Iran. The host country imposed a strange law of following a religious dress code on the players which violated the basic human rights was the reason for her pulling out of the tournament.

He came up with the wish for Rahul Gandhi on his birthday on Twitter and the message for him read, “Happy Birthday @RahulGandhi. May you remain healthy and blessed.” However, it didn’t go down well with his fans as they went on to troll Rahul who has earlier made a few mistakes during while delivering speeches in front of the public.

While few adviced him not to wish the President of Congress again, many were of the opinion that the birthday boy was not a valid candidate to become the Prime Minister of India. Moreover, Kaif faced the heat for his tweet as some of them also went to troll him.
