Team India is currently sitting pretty in the ongoing third Test match against England at Trent Bridge and is expected to win it. The selection panel led by MSK Prasad will sit to pick the team for the last two matches and there is a possibility that they might ponder over picking one of the bright performers in the India A. If at all that happens, then it is possible that Mohammed Siraj will make to the squad and even Twitter is calling for the youngster’s inclusion in the team.

He was in England with India A side and played a couple of matches, each against England Lions and Windies A, and it goes without saying that the fast bowler impressed. He scalped 8 wickets against the later side after which Siraj went on to trouble the hosts and picked 7 wickets against. In the process, he also delivered a peach to dismiss Alastair Cook who scored 180 runs in the first innings.

Continues to impress

Mohammed Siraj continued to impress with the new cherry in hand and tormented South Africa A in the two-match home series. More often than not, he struck with the new ball and did well later in his spells also. The 24-year-old was the highest wicket-taker of the series with 14 scalps at an impressive average of 14.35. There is no doubt about the fact that Siraj is talented and he will come into the Test side at some point with India also set to travel to Australia in November.

This has been a decent year for him as he bowled well during the Indian Premier League (IPL) while playing for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) which is led by the national captain Virat Kohli. Even he will be having a keen eye on the young bowler and definitely might be in contention now after picking 29 wickets in 4 matches for India A.

Twitter also felt that Siraj deserves an opportunity in the national call-up and urged the selectors to give him a chance when he is breathing fire with the ball.
