Twitterati bewildered after a spot on prediction for the target Team India would have to chase

In the ongoing Test between South Africa and India, the Proteas were bowled out for 258 in their second innings. On a pitch that seems to be doing a lot of things, Team India is now set with a target of 287 to chase. However, they are already struggling and have pretty much conceded the game. With captain Virat Kohli’s dismissal, very Indian fans still have their hopes alive.

Earlier, South Africa batted really well at the start of the day at one stage, it looked as if the lead will cross the 300-run mark. But, some quick wickets, towards the end, ensured that the target doesn’t get too huge for India. Even if 287 might look chasable, the pitch is making life difficult for the batsmen. While South Africa was batting, a popular TV journalist Vikrant Gupta tried to predict the target.

Gupta took it to Twitter and posted the score he thought the visitors would be chasing in the fourth innings. He predicted that India will be chasing 287 to win the match. And guess what? Vikrant’s prediction was perfect to the ‘T’. He said that the number 287 was somehow ringing in his mind space. He asked his followers if that could be the target India will chase.

Twitterati was very amused to see that his prediction was right. Although many were sceptical early on, they couldn’t believe it when the Proteas were bowled out with exactly the predicted lead.

Some opined that he should place his bet in a casino. Sports correspondent of NewsOnePk (an Urdu channel in Pakistan), Asif Khan hailed Vikrant as ‘Guru’ (meaning teacher). Everyone was in awe of this master prediction and some also wanted him to predict the winner of the match. He also received lots of love and praise from followers in Pakistan.

Few followers also tried to mock him by asking if the match was fixed. That’s exactly what happens when you get a prediction so damn right.
