MS Dhoni, the former Indian cricketer, bid goodbye to Team India on Saturday, August 15, leaving his fans in a state of shock. It was back in July 2019 when the now 39-year-old last donned the national jersey during India’s semi-final match against New Zealand in the World Cup. Thereafter, he went on a sabbatical and reports about his future kept doing the rounds.

A number of experts said that Dhoni should continue until the 2020 edition of the T20 World Cup. However, after the tournament had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dhoni decided to call it a day. On India’s 74th Independence Day, the Jharkhand-born cricketer posted a video on Instagram where he gave a glimpse of the ups and downs of his career.

In the background, played the popular song, ‘Main Pal Do Pal Ka Shayar Hu’. He is now set to play for the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the 2020 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which is set to get underway on Saturday, September 19 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). A lot would be expected of him since he would be returning after a gap of more than 14 months.

PUBG banned in India

In the meantime, he is faced with bad news. The Indian government banned 118 Chinese applications, including PUBG. The decision has come amidst the cross-border tensions between the Indian and Chinese troopers.

Dhoni was often seen, playing the game while chilling in hotel rooms during international assignments. Even in the lockdown period, he didn’t miss out on playing the popular mobile game.

Earlier, Sakshi Dhoni, the veteran’s spouse, explained how he was engrossed into the game. “He has got a thinking brain; it does not rest. When he plays video games, it helps him divert his mind, which is a good thing. Nowadays PUBG has encroached my bed. Mahi is sleep talking about PUBG these days,” Sakshi had said during an interview.

Sakshi’s comments show that Dhoni is a big fan of the multiplayer game. Some of Dhoni’s fans also took to Twitter to share some hilarious memes.
