Umran Malik is the talk of the cricketing world. The 21-year-old Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer has turned up the heat in the UAE by sending in missiles at the batsman consistently at over 150 kmph.

And now, Jason Holder has opened up on Malik. Holder stated that Malik’s biggest asset is his pace, and added that Malik has given the SRH players a tough time with the way he has bowled in the practice sessions.

Holder also opined that Malik has deceived a lot of batsmen with his express pace, and feels that Malik will act as a boost to any bowling attack.

“I think the first thing to mention is his pace. That’s his biggest asset. He’s just been consistent in training and he’s been giving us quite a hard time in training. He has been very hard to get hold of. As you have seen in the games, he is obviously deceiving a lot of batters for pace. That extra pace always adds a boost to any bowling attack,” said Jason Holder after the match between RCB and SRH.

Jason Holder also added that many bowlers who bowl fast are erratic in nature, but that is not the case with Malik, as the right arm pacer has been consistent with his line and length.

“It’s good to see his control as well. A lot of guys who have bowled quick over the years, sometimes, may seem erratic. But he has been pretty consistent and he has grouped really good deliveries together,” said Holder.

Jason Holder further revealed that he did not practice before the match against RCB. Adding that he thought he needed a break, the West Indies cricketer concluded by stating that he wants to be clear in his thought process and execute his plans.

“I just try to prepare well. Funnily enough, I didn’t practice yesterday as I felt that I needed a little bit of a break just to recuperate. But for me, I just like to be clear in my thought process and my game plans.

Sometimes, I tend to watch some footage, try to pick up some patterns and just know how I want to set fields when it comes to bowling. So I just want to be clear about my plans and execute them,” concluded Jason Holder.
