The Chennai Super Kings (CSK) played their final IPL 2022 match against Rajasthan Royals at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on May 20. However, it was not a happy ending for them as they went on to lose the contest by five wickets to finish their otherwise forgettable campaign with just four wins from 14 games and eight points to their tally.

As CSK’s title defense came to an end a lot earlier than expected by failing to make the playoffs for only the second time in the history of the tournament, it was time to bid goodbye and all the players, as well as the members of the coaching and support staff, exchanged pleasantries for one last time before parting ways.

CSK players treasure some priceless moments before finishing their IPL 2022 campaign

Taking to their official Twitter handle, the Chennai Super Kings posted a video where the likes of batting coach Michael Hussey, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shivam Dube were seen signing a team jersey while a couple of them including New Zealand bowling all-rounder Mitchell Santner got their pictures clicked.

The cameras then focused on the skipper MS Dhoni, Devon Conway, and Robin Uthappa. All the players were also seen clicking selfies with each other and the support staff. The video ends with Mahendra Singh Dhoni signing his autograph on a bat.

The Yellow Army were the defending champions coming into this season where the captaincy responsibilities were handed over to star India all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja. Nonetheless, the move backfired and by the time Dhoni was reappointed as captain, CSK were already on the brink of elimination. A five-wicket loss to arch-rivals Mumbai Indians a couple of weeks ago in a low-scoring thriller brought curtains down on their title defense.

More importantly, it is MS Dhoni’s availability for the 2023 season that stands out the most for the four-time champions. This was officially confirmed by the legendary skipper himself during the toss against the Rajasthan Royals
