It was not long ago when Varun Aaron was a regular face of the Indian side. The Jharkhand pacer had burst into the international arena as the ‘fastest’ bowler from the country. He featured for the national side across the three formats of the game, and even toured with the team to Australia in the 2014 season. However, after the tour, he seemed to have lost his track, and was left out of the mix of things.

Now, things have changed for the pacer, and he is planning on reviving his career yet again. After a satisfying stint with Leicestershire in the English domestic cricket last year, Varun Aaron looks lethal again. He was named in the India A squad for the unofficial four-day matches against the England Lions. A highly ecstatic Aaron is keen on cementing his place in the national side again.

He remarked that he has a clearer view of things now, and has the better know-how of the things to do to succeed at the highest level. He has firm faith in his abilities to do well for India A and also, for India in the times to come.

“I am more aware of what I want to do, it comes with age. I would also like to thank the selectors for showing faith in me. I have been rewarded for my hard work,” Varun Aaron told Sportstar recently.

“I feel stronger than before mentally because I have absolutely no doubts of what I want to do,” he added further.

‘The pool is great’

Over the years, it has been the Indian batting that has dominated the headlines for the major part of the cricketing season. However, things seem to have changed a great deal in the recent past. Under the guidance of coaches of the Indian side, and the India A side, a great pool of fast bowlers has been making the nation proud.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma have formed the core group of pacers, with youngsters like Khaleel Ahmed and Mohammed Siraj extending the helping hand. Commenting on the same, Varun Aaron lauded the efforts of the BCCI for having groomed such great pool of players.
