With 273 runs and a wicket to his name, Virat Kohli was named the man of the tournament. However, despite not winning the World T20, Virat Kohli, and his fans most certainly have something to cheer. The 27-year old has been named as the captain of the team of the World T20, a quintessential ‘Dream Team’ released by the ICC following the conclusion of the World T20. Indian left-arm pace veteran Ashish Nehra also made the cut ahead of MS Dhoni and perhaps even Yuvraj Singh.

The team that was put out by the ICC also includes the likes of Jason Roy, Joe Root, Andre Russell and even Samuel Badree. Ish Sodhi, one of New Zealand’s best bowlers in the tournament was left out of the side while teammate Mitchell Santner was selected ahead of him. The recently retired Shane Watson also features on this list having made a massive impact with the ball if not with the bat.

Jos Buttler’s amazing knock against the Windies in the final along with David Willey’s penultimate over in the final ensured that they found themselves on the list. While most justified their inclusion, the selection of Quinton de Kock was somewhat of a surprise with the latter having played just the 4 matches. Mustafizur Rahman has been named in the 12th man capacity.

In a rather contrasting team sheet, no Indian woman was named in the Women’s dream team. In fact, there was no representative from Asia in the Women’s team except for Pakistani Anam Amin who was named as the 12th player as an after though.
