India’s star batsman and Royal Challengers Bangalore skipper Virat Kohli has calmed his fans by announcing that he will be back on the cricket field soon. Kohli had earlier injured his shoulder during the third Test against Australia in Ranchi. He had therefore been ruled out of the fourth and final Test in Dharamshala, which saw India winning an absorbed game of Test cricket.

The 10th season of the IPL will kick off on 5th April with the Royal Challengers taking on defending champions Sunrisers Hyderabad. However, RCB have suffered a couple of blows to their star-studded squad. Both of India’s premier batsmen KL Rahul and Virat Kohli will not feature in the opener of this season. Rahul will have to give this year’s IPL a miss, while Kohli is expected to join the team after he recovers.

Virat Kohli had a stellar 2016 season, smashing four centuries and amassing 973 runs at a stunning average of 81. Arguably the world’s best batsman in the circuit today, Kohli has also piled up runs at the international level. He was in the thick of things during India’s grand home season but was unfortunate to have missed out against the Australians.

Kohli is undoubtedly a high-impact player, and the Bangalore fans will miss their favourite superstar on the field. The RCB franchise has announced that South Africa’s AB de Villiers will be at the helm until Kohli’s arrival.

In order to appease his fans, Kohli took to social media to give a sneak peep of his rehabilitation sessions. He shared a short clipping on Twitter in which he said, “My rehab’s going well. Training hard to get back on the field. Can’t wait. But, a big shout out to the fans. I just want to say that I’ll be back soon. In the meantime, please keep supporting RCB and make sure we have a good start. Cheers, god bless.”
