Sunrisers Hyderabad captain David Warner has hailed Royal Challengers batsman Virat Kohli as a brilliant competitor and showered praise on the Indian skipper.

Virat Kohli missed the initial few matches of the 10th season of the Indian Premier League due to a shoulder injury which he had picked up against the Australians during the third test match at Ranchi. But Kohli returned with a bang against the Mumbai Indians as he scored a brilliant 62 runs off just 47 balls. Unfortunately, his scintillating innings went in vain as the Royal Challengers ended up on the losing side at the end of the match.

Kohli rocked last year’s Indian Premier League with 973 runs and 4 hundreds in his bag. He was unstoppable in international cricket too, as he scored close to 2600 runs in the year and became the first batsman in the history of test cricket to score double centuries in four consecutive series. His first double hundred came against the West Indies and the dependable batsman followed it up by double tons against New Zealand, England and Bangladesh.

Australian left-handed batsman David Warner praised Virat’s dedication and determination to win and his will to give 100 percent every time he goes out to bat.

Warner quoted India Today “When you step onto the field for your country, you do everything you can to win. That’s the player Virat is. No matter what team he’s in, he goes out there and gives his 100 percent. He’ll do what he has to do to win”

The 30-year-old also termed the recently concluded Border-Gavaskar trophy as a “fantastic” series and believes that the Australians played pretty well to take it down to the last match.

“We played the best cricket we could to give the fans the entertainment they deserved. It was a fantastic series. Every day of series had something new, that’s what we loved about this series. Expectation was India would win 4-0, we held our own and it came down to the last match”
