Indian skipper Virat Kohli silenced his critics in the most appropriate way as he smashed a magnificent ton in the final ODI of the ongoing West Indies tour. Coming on to chase a minimal total of 205 runs, Virat Kohli played a captain’s knock of  111 runs.

The main story:

The batsman rocketed to his 28th century in One Day Internationals in just 102 balls and nailed the series in favour of the Indians. The batsman looked elated on reaching the 100 run mark as he celebrated the moment dramatically.  The Indian captain swung his bat ferociously as he completed the single and followed it up with a loud roar.

The century was a slap in the face for his critics and a much-needed one after a forgetful Champions Trophy final. Kohli also had a dismal IPL season as he found his team hitting the rock bottom of the chart in the tournament’s iconic 10th edition.

Speaking about his hundred at the post-match conference, Kohli pointed out that he never concentrates on stats and records. He always focuses on taking his team home and what the team needs to achieve. The batsman also bagged the Man of the Match award in the 5th One Day International as India reigned supreme in the Caribbean with a 3-1 victory.

Virat Kohli also had a memorable Test series against the West Indies last year where he made his mark with a double hundred. With the hundred, Kohli now finds himself at par with Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya on the third spot in the list of most centuries in ODI’s.

The classy stroke player also went past Sachin Tendulkar when it comes to most centuries while chasing a target. Kohli now has 18 centuries while chasing whereas the legendary Tendulkar had 17. Virat Kohli is back to his usual best of shattering records and is definitely one of the leading talents in world cricket right now. Here is the video of his celebration:
