Talk about batting, and the Indian skipper Virat Kohli seems to be redefining the art. He has mastered the modern day batting. Kohli has been in a splendid form since the last couple of years. The most amazing part about his batting has been his ability to adapt to different formats of the game. He has managed to dominate the bowlers in all the three formats of the game alike.

When he plays Test cricket, he rarely hits an air-bound shot. On the contrary, it is the same batsman who clobbers maximums at will in the T20 format. His stupendous run of form started with the Australia tour in early 2016. He continued his good ODI form there and then translated it to the shorted formats. He was India’s best batsman in the ICC World T20 last year.

Then came the IPL and the RCB skipper hit a record 4 centuries in the season. It was followed by the grand home season of the Indian cricket. With 4 double centuries in last 8 months in Test cricket, Virat Kohli is the modern day master for sure. He has been breaking all batting records.

Now, with the Australia series coming up, Kohli is on the verge of breaking another Sachin Tendulkar record. In the ongoing grand home season of India, Kohli has amassed 1206 runs in 9 Tests. Now, India is scheduled to play 4 Test matches against Australia starting on February 23. Kohli is currently having 895 rating points in the ICC Test rankings, which is 38 less than that of the top ranked batsman Steve Smith.

En route his sensational run, Kohli overtook the Rahul Dravid’s tally of 892 points. Virat Kohli has never breached the 900-mark in points table and he will have a good opportunity in the Australia series. The highest ever by the legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar is on the verge of being broken. Tendulkar once had 898 points to his name. Certainly, Kohli has a very good chance to break this record as he needs just 3 more rating points to equal the feat.
