Team India skipper Virat Kohli recently got married to Bollywood diva Anushka Sharma in Milan, Italy. The power couple had a very secretive wedding that had the fans guessing for a long time. It was only after a tweet from Filmfare came to the fore that the fans got the confirmation of the most eligible bachelor of the country getting hitched.

Soon, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma announced their wedding to the fans as well. Both celebrities posted the same tweet from their official social media handles. However, they had different photos to go along with their respective tweets. While Kohli is renowned for making records on the field with the willow in hand, he entered the record books yet again after his wedding.

Breaching Sachin Tendulkar’s record

Interestingly, there have been so many speculations revolving around Kohli breaking the cricket records set by Sachin Tendulkar. This remains to be seen as Kohli is only almost half way through in his international career. For now, Kohli has managed to break Sachin’s record on the social media. Kohli’s wedding tweet was retweeted 71,429 times and liked by 349,167 users.

This is a record in itself. In his tweet, Virat Kohli had written, “Today we have promised each other to be bound in love for ever. We are truly blessed to share the news with you. This beautiful day will be made more special with the love and support of our family of fans & well wishers. Thank you for being such an important part of our journey.”

This tweet became the new Indian record. It beat Sachin Tendulkar’s retirment tweet that he had posted in November 2013. He had written, “I am really touched with #ThankYouSachin messages. Your support all these years have inspired me to give my best.” This was retweeted over 16,500 times and liked by nearly 13,000.
