India Test captain Virat Kohli yesterday shared a picture on Twitter thanking all his fans and supporters for making him the most searched cricketer on Google.

The search engine giant released its list of the top 10 most searched sportspersons in 2015 in which six Indian athletes found a place. Virat Kohli topped the list ahead of the Argentine football star Lionel Messi. Kohli has had a wonderful year as a Test captain. A 2-1 series win over Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka and a 3-0 win against South Africa in the home series has given the Indian fans more reason to cheer for him.

Virat tweeted after an early morning workout on Thursday, “Can’t believe I am the most searched! I must be good at hiding; just kidding. Thank you for your love. Feel blessed”

Apart from him, there was only one cricketer who was in the top five of the list. India’s limited-overs captain MS Dhoni found himself at the fourth position. MSD had an average year as a player and a captain. He recently made headlines when the new IPL franchise – Pune bought him for 12.5 Cr in the first IPL draft for the next season.

Rohit Sharma, who recently got married, also featured in the most searched list at the 8th position while Punjab dasher Yuvraj Singh was at 9th. He is currently fighting it out hard to don the national colours again. He has presented his case for selection with clinical performances in domestic cricket with both the bat and ball.
