It is known that Virat Kohli is passionate about everything he does, but the ace batsman and skipper of Indian team also seems to have a heart of gold. On several occasions, he has shown this trait whether he is on or off the field. His noble hearted nature has helped him earn respect from cricketers across the boundaries and most of them rate him extensively.

On the occasion of Teachers Day, many celebrities have taken to social media to wish their respective teachers. Among them is Indian cricket team’s captain, who put up the heartening post to wish greats from around the world who’ve taught him a thing or two. Interestingly, where list carries names of some great cricketers, Virat Kohli opted to not mention former Indian coach, Anil Kumble.

Here’s the tweet

Sharing a picture on twitter, Virat wrote, “To all the teachers around the world and especially to the ones in the Cricket World #Happy Teachers Day.”

Recent achievements

The Indian team very recently crushed Sri Lanka by 5-0 in the ODI series for the first time in their cricketing history. They completed a six wicket in final ODI at Colombo where Sri Lanka succumbed to another morale sapping defeat.

Yet again, Virat showed a tremendous character as he applied himself after the team lost wickets in quick successions. He stitched a partnership with Manish Pandey and Kedar Jadhav which eventually helped India get over the line with utmost ease.

The Chase Master being synonymous to Virat, he then equalled former Australian skipper Ricky Pointing’s tally of 30 ODI hundreds being just below the great Sachin Tendulkar. His phenomenal numbers led an individual to think that this lad emulates Sachin and has the ability to go past him.

Next assignment

Team India has already tasted the word ‘domination’ on the island as they whitewashed Sri Lanka both in Test and ODI series. For one final time in this long series, India will take on Lankans for one-off T20 International which is scheduled to be played on Wednesday. Virat & Co. will look to continue their winning run in the shortest format as well.
