Like many other cricketers, Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli also took to Twitter on Monday to wish everyone a Happy Holi. While the 28 year old wished that everyone had a great day, he also had a serious message to share.

“Happy Holi everybody. Have a great day today. Please make sure no harm is done to the animals on the streets. God Bless all”, he tweeted along with a 35-second video.

Kohli has been an advocate of pet safety over the years. He has a pet beagle named Bruno. Before sharing the video, Virat also shared a picture of a stray pup, covered in gulaal, and captioned it: Have a very Happy and a Safe #Holi everyone. Please take care of the silent ones.

“Although my Holi will be spent travelling to Ranchi, it is a great day to enjoy with your family. Look after your pets, be safe and please don’t humiliate any animals on the streets either.” he said.

On the cricketing front, India are preparing for the third Test against Australia at Ranchi, starting on March 16. The series is currently locked 1-1, with the visitors clinching the first Test in Pune and India fighting back with a win a Bengaluru.

Kohli was in the form of his life when he scored 4 back to back double centuries from 4 Tests. But in the on-going 4 Tests Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he is yet to let his willow do the talking. He has been in news recently for alleging that the Australian skipper Steve Smith looked at the dressing room to take help while making a DRS call. But the ICC ruled out any such unethical practice in the Australian camp and the matter was settled. Kohli will be eager to bounce back to his flamboyant form in Ranchi.
