Virat Kohli announced to step down as Test captain on Saturday, 15th January 2022. He earlier left the captaincy in ODIs and T20Is too. Virat Kohli has captained the national team in 68 Test matches. Under his captaincy, team India won 40 matches and lost 17. This makes Virat Kohli the most successful Test captain India ever had.
He is the fourth-most successful Test captain in the history of Test cricket. Virat Kohli won his 40th Test in international cricket as India’s Test captain after beating South Africa in first Test in Centurion. 1. 141 vs Australia, Adelaide 2014
