Former Indian International Virender Sehwag has maintained his devastating form not only on the field but off the field as well. The right-handed batsman has been a thorough entertainer on twitter with his hilarious tweets much like he entertained us with his bat. From taking digs at Piers Morgan to taking a social stand, from trolling other celebrities to wishing them in a comical manner on their birthdays, Virender Sehwag enjoys a pretty amazing time on twitter.
In spite of some of his recent tweets misfiring towards him Sehwag took to tweeter to post a beautiful and heartwarming message for all the women on International Women’s Day.
The veteran cricketer insisted child education, precisely women education on the occasion of Women’s Day in a tweet which read in Hindi“Nanhi nanhi bacchiyon ko chaaro kitaabo padhne do saahab. Kokh se bach aayi hai, dahej se bhi bach jaaengi (Let little girls read some books, they found their way out of their mother’s womb, let them find their way out of the dowry system too).”
नन्हीं नन्हीं बच्चियों को चार किताबें पढने दो साहब. कोख से बच आई हैं,दहेज से भी बच जाएँगी !#womensday

While the tweet was highly appreciated by some of his fans and he earned a huge amount of respect, there were some who took this as a chance to give it back to Sehwag for a previous tweet of him the mocked Du student Gurmehar Kar.
24-year-old Gurmehar Kaur, a Delhi University student, had started the campaign ‘I am not afraid of ABVP’, following the violence at Ramjas college, which went viral and received a massive support from students of various universities.
She posted her pictures on Facebook holding different placards including ‘I am not afraid of ABVP’ and ‘Pakistan did not kill my father but war did’.
The scorer of two triple centuries in tests mocked the student by posting a tweet which had a picture of himself with a placard that read “I did not score two triple centuries, my bat did”.This action of his gathered huge amount of controversy while a few celebrities had supported him including actor Randeep Hooda.
Here are the best twitter reactions in response to Sehwag’s tweet on Women’s Day.
